Concordia University is part of "le Quartier des grands jardins" and is looking to reconsider its site and green spaces. This pocket park project proposes a design for one of the unoccupied spaces in the area. The targeted site is adjacent to Mackay Street; with its sunny mornings on a large wall surface, the greatly open and bright space seems optimum for a new green public space in the neighbourhood.
This design's strategy is to employ the maximum versatility of the space by having movable, modular benches in the pocket park. By allowing a customizable layout on the site, many events and interactions are made possible for students, residents, professionals and tourists alike in the Quartier, are all important and frequent passerbys.
